Job description

Production Associate – Upper DeBot Dining Center

Student hourly job accepting work‑study and regular pay applicants.

Responsibilities

• Assist kitchen staff in preparing food items for service.
• Safely use a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Ensure proper quantities of food are available for uninterrupted service.
• Set up service areas and stock with appropriate quantity of food.
• Assist with food production for special functions.
• Maintain storeroom and equipment orderly and sanitary in conformance with local, state, and federal rules.
• Store service and leftover food safely and sanitarily.
• Clean prep area, send dirty pans and utensils for cleaning, and prepare area for next shift.
• Report sanitary or safety hazards and repair needs to the Management Team.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and complete University Dining orientation and all required trainings.
• Comply with policies outlined in the University Dining Student Employment Handbook.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 hours per week.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Ability to learn and apply food preparation, service, and sanitation skills.
• Work with speed and efficiency, following safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Lift up to 40lb (e.g., pans) between production area and carts, and up to 60lb (e.g., storage, stocking) while bending, stooping, or twisting.
• Stand and walk on hard floors for extended periods.
• Enroll in at least 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits and maintain a 2.0 GPA.
• Pass a criminal background check and all UWSP mandatory trainings, including department‑specific food handling trainings.
• Undergo an eight‑week probationary period with performance evaluation upon completion.

Compensation

Base wage: $13.00 per hour (Division 2).
