Job summary

Gwinnett Technical College seeks a Manager of Space Planning & Utilization to oversee the college’s space inventory and data-driven utilization analysis across its Lawrenceville and Alpharetta–North Fulton campuses.

Under minimal supervision, you will apply FICM to classify spaces, maintain room use codes, and coordinate with Academic Affairs and IT to validate scheduling data and resolve discrepancies. Strong leadership and collaboration across departments are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or five years of related field experience.
• Preferred: Master's degree in a related field.
• Experience managing space records or utilization in higher education.
• Experience with Ad Astra and Banner data.
• Familiar with the Postsecondary Education Facilities Inventory and Classification Manual (FICM), room measurement, and space classification.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and customer service skills; ability to collaborate across departments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, database records, and reporting; ability to verify room information through field surveys.

Responsibilities

• Lead space management function within Facilities; set priorities, develop procedures, and determine utilization targets.
• Manage a comprehensive space inventory for two campuses; verify room data with field surveys.
• Act as the primary Facilities administrator for space records in Ad Astra; validate scheduling data with Academic Affairs/IT.
• Evaluate space performance and identify underutilized or overbooked spaces; propose reallocation or renovations.
• Coordinate space requests across departments and resolve space conflicts; support campus planning and scheduling.
