Bowdoin College is seeking a Security Officer to support the Campus Communications Center and patrol the campus on foot, bicycle, or security vehicle. You will help maintain a safe environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors, with responsibilities including building checks, alarm monitoring, incident investigations, and detailed record-keeping.

The role is entry-level with comprehensive training: 5 weeks initial training, follow-up at 6 months, and ongoing deescalation and security

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet College policies.
• Entry-level; 1 year security experience preferred.

Aufgaben

• Conduct daily patrols and building checks, including locking/unlocking buildings and inspecting alarm systems.
• Monitor alarms and access control systems and report hazards or incidents.
• Investigate incidents and complaints and ensure policy compliance.
• Operate the Campus Security Communications Center and coordinate responses via radio.
• Maintain detailed incident and activity records.
• Complete Bowdoin College Security Officer Academy training and ongoing de-escalation trainings.
