Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) at a higher education location in Washington, DC. The role offers a flexible schedule and compensation of $20.00 per hour, with shifts including late evenings and weekends.

You will perform routine patrols, deter security incidents, assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and maintain professional logs and reports while upholding campus safety and customer

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required in accordance with laws.
• Criminal histories considered in compliance with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence halls, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor activity, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports while communicating professionally with campus stakeholders and Allied Universal leadership.
