Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Unarmed Security Officer in Washington, DC. You will patrol facilities, monitor entrances, and maintain a visible security presence to deter incidents while delivering courteous service to students, staff, and visitors.

The role emphasizes flexible scheduling via our shift-claim platform and a pay rate of $24.06 per hour, with opportunities for training, growth, and benefits through Allied Universal.

Qualifications

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and clergy by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, and entrances.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor activity per site procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations through clear reports and communicate with site contacts and leadership.
