Job summary

Gilbert Public Schools is seeking a Security Guard - Campus to monitor welfare, safety, and security of students, staff, and visitors on campus. The position is a Support Staff (Non-Classroom) role with an 8-hour day, 9-month calendar, and an hourly rate starting at $18.47 depending on experience.

Responsibilities include patrolling grounds, responding to emergencies, detaining individuals when needed, coordinating with law enforcement, and maintaining compliance with district policies.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Must possess a Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card prior to processing.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Administers CPR and first aid as needed and coordinates with campus staff during emergency medical situations.
• Assists law enforcement personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities within the school environment.
• Collaborates with other agencies to communicate and receive information regarding situations that may affect safety within the school environment.
• Communicates school policies and enforcement procedures to students, personnel and visitors for the purpose of ensuring understanding and consequences of violations.
• Detains individuals suspected of engaging in illegal activities for the purpose of apprehending suspects and preventing further illegal activities.
• Escorts assigned personnel/documents for safety and security.
• Investigates potential campus crimes and student incidents for resolution.
• Patrols school facilities to maintain security and deter crime.
• Prepares documentation for written support and conveying information.
• Responds to emergency situations addressing safety concerns.
• Supervises students in detention programs within the security department.
• Testifies in court proceedings and school actions for information.
