Job summary

High Point University is seeking a full-time Telecommunicator for the University Security Department. This role processes and dispatches emergency, non-emergency and administrative calls for students, staff, faculty, visitors, law enforcement agencies, and emergency responders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 21 years of age.
• No misdemeanor/felony convictions in past 10 years.
• Experience as a radio dispatcher preferred.
• Customer service experience required.
• Knowledge of MS Office, Outlook and Excel.
• Datatel, C-Cure 9000, Milestone VMS, Mass Communications RF preferred.
• Ability to work in a team and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Receives and processes emergency and non-emergency calls; monitors phone, computer and radio traffic.
• Operates CAD, access control, Video Management software and mass notification systems.
• Issues university IDs and parking documents to community members; communicates with stakeholders.
• Performs basic troubleshooting of security systems and participates in training.
• Adheres to policies and procedures and supports two campus locations: SeCom and Wanek Center.
