The South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a School Resource Officer to protect youth and staff on DJJ campuses. You will respond to calls, patrol facilities, and coordinate safety during emergencies.

This role requires state LE certification, ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to work varied hours and overnight travel. You will also support classroom safety training and incident investigations.

Formación

• High school diploma with patrol or investigative police experience.
• Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council required.
• Knowledge of state DJJ laws and safety procedures.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work varied hours; travel overnight occasionally.

Responsabilidades

• Respond to and resolve calls as School Resource Officer.
• Patrol campuses to ensure safety and security.
• Coordinate campus emergencies as first responder.
• Provide security for school events and functions.
• Prepare shift reports and maintain records.
• Operate vehicles and communications equipment.
• Transport youth as needed.
• Investigate incidents including drugs, theft, and abuse.
