South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) seeks a School Resource Officer to protect students, staff and visitors across DJJ campuses. You will respond to calls, patrol facilities, and coordinate safety during emergencies, ensuring secure operations and compliance with state policies.

The role requires state law enforcement experience with certification, the ability to lift and handle youth safety situations, and collaboration with school administrators to maintain a safe environment.

Qualificações

• High school diploma and experience performing patrol or investigative duties with a public law enforcement agency.
• Bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required law enforcement experience.
• Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council per 23-23-40 of SC law.

Responsabilidades

• Serves as School Resource Officer responding to and resolving calls for service.
• Patrols DJJ campuses to ensure safety and security; assists units in controlling youth disturbances; notifies management.
• Conducts routine patrols of assigned campuses including buildings and parking lots.
• Responds as initial law enforcement first responder and school safety coordinator for campus emergencies.
• Provides security for special school events or functions such as sporting events.
• Prepares shift reports and other records.
• Operates communication network and vehicles; ensures vehicles/equipment are maintained.
• Transports youth as deemed necessary.
• Investigates escapes, vehicle accidents, and other incidents on agency property.
