Job summary

Richmond County Schools Auxiliary Services in Hamlet, NC is seeking a full-time School Resource Officer to work on district campuses. The SRO will report to the Chief of Richmond County Schools Police and perform security and law enforcement duties in collaboration with school administrators.

Qualifications

• Certified Law Enforcement Officer required.
• Experience in law enforcement preferable.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain liaison between school security personnel and other SROs assigned to school campuses.
• Inform students of their rights and responsibilities as citizens.
• Provide liaison between students and social services.
• Act as liaison between the principal and investigators of criminal law violations on campus.
• Protect lives and property for citizens and students.
• Enforce laws and policies and assist with school enforcement.
• Provide security for school events at principal or safety manager request.
• Assist with traffic control during student arrival and departure.
• Develop plans with the principal to prevent dangerous situations on or near campus.
