Job summary

Villanova University is seeking a Patrol Officer I to help maintain safety and security across campus. You will staff fixed posts, monitor access, respond to routine calls, and prepare clear written reports of activities. This is a full-time, 12-month staff position located in Villanova, PA.

This role requires a customer-service approach, strong communication, and the ability to de-escalate situations. Training is provided; eligibility to obtain CPR/First Aid certification is supported.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CPR and First Aid certification ability.
• Customer service oriented.
• Courteous manner with customers; de-escalation.
• Ability to follow written instructions.
• Ability to prepare written activity reports.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Staff fixed posts on campus, controlling access per protocols.
• Provide escorts for students, faculty, and staff; transport assistance as needed.
• Assist in emergency evacuation of buildings or areas.
• Prepare written reports of work performed.
• Alert supervisors to traffic hazards or violations.
• Staff special events (e.g., athletic competitions, homecoming, commencements).
• Attend trainings and departmental meetings; contribute to quality improvement.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
