Job summary

Regent University Police Department seeks a Police Patrol Officer I to safeguard lives, property, and the campus community across Regent University and CBN. You will patrol, respond to emergencies, and engage with students, staff, and visitors while upholding core values of service, sacrifice, and integrity.

The role requires readiness for shift work, strong ethical standards, and collaboration with local and federal agencies to maintain a safe, welcoming campus environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; an associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must be qualified in firearms, OC, Taser and tactical rifle as required.
• CPR and First Aid Training Certification required; VCIN certification preferred; CIT training recommended; NIMS training recommended.

Responsibilities

• Provide public safety by maintaining order, enforcing laws, and securing lives and property on Regent University/CBN campuses.
• Respond to 911 emergencies, alarms, medical calls, and other incidents as a first responder.
• Conduct proactive patrols (vehicle, bicycle, foot) and deter crime while maintaining a visible public safety presence.
• Interview witnesses and suspects; collect statements; preserve evidence; prepare reports for investigations.
• Coordinate with internal units and external agencies for joint investigations and mutual aid.
