Job summary

KIPP DC is seeking a Manager of Safety Operations to lead safety and security for a high school campus in Washington, DC. The role oversees events, after-school programs, and daily safety procedures with an on-site, exempt arrangement.

Starting salary ranges from $78,436 to $85,256, reflecting a full-time on-site position. Responsibilities encompass crisis response, safety training, and external coordination with law enforcement and community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Criminal Justice (or related field).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in safety, security, or operations.
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Serve as campus lead for escalated safety issues or emergencies.
• Coordinate with police, fire, and external agencies for safety responses.
• Plan and lead daily dismissal procedures and safety drills.
• Manage security personnel to maintain campus safety.
• Oversee security infrastructure (cameras, alarms, access control).
• Plan events and after-school activities with safety considerations.
• Develop relationships with students, families, and community stakeholders.
• Audit safety protocols and ensure regulatory compliance.
