Job summary

Middlebury College is seeking a Public Safety Officer to provide safety and security services across campus, promoting a safe environment for students, faculty, staff, guests and property.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; postsecondary education preferred.
• Experience in higher education or security desirable.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass driving test.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays and long shifts.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate strong communications.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus buildings and grounds to promote safety.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents as first responder.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and logs.
• Educate campus on safety, security and policies.
• Lock/unlock buildings, rooms, gates and vehicles.
• Transport individuals to health facilities when needed.
• Enforce parking education and enforcement.
