Job summary

Lamar University is seeking a Student Worker to support the Risk Management and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) department on campus. You will assist with administrative tasks, safety documentation, and inspections to help maintain a safe campus environment.

You'll gain hands-on experience in workplace safety and risk management, handling records, training materials, and inventory while working with EHS staff in a collaborative, professional setting.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled as a Lamar University student.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable using Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Willing to work in office and campus environments.
• Interest in environmental health and safety is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operational support to Risk Management and EHS.
• Maintain safety records, inspections, and training materials.
• Assist with campus safety inspections and documentation.
• Help manage inventories of safety equipment and supplies.
• Prepare materials and spaces for safety trainings and meetings.
• Assist with data entry, scanning, and filing.
• Distribute safety information to campus departments.
• Track work orders and corrective actions as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality of department information.
• Assist with other Risk Management and EHS duties.
