Job summary

Indiana University Police Department (IUPD) seeks cadets for non-law enforcement duties, including radio dispatch and security assignments for campus buildings and events. Cadets work closely with faculty, staff, students and visitors, staying informed on daily developments and policy compliance.

Candidates must be enrolled full-time at IU with a minimum 2.5 GPA, hold a valid driver's license, be at least 21 at graduation, and be prepared for background checks, a Police Academy program, and

Qualifications

• Proficient communication skills.
• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at Indiana University and in good academic standing with a 2.5 GPA.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by IU at date of hire.
• 21 years of age upon graduation from the Police Academy.

Responsibilities

• Perform radio dispatch duties for IUPD and security assignments for buildings and events.
• Liaise with staff, students and visitors and brief on situational developments.
• Enforce university policy when appropriate and call for a sworn officer to detain or arrest if needed.
