Job summary

Indiana University Police Department (IUPD) seeks cadet staff to perform non-law enforcement duties, including radio dispatch, security assignments for campus buildings and events, and special tasks that require IUPD presence but not sworn officers.

Cadets will work with faculty, staff, students, and visitors, must remain a full-time IU student with a 2.5 GPA, hold a valid driver's license, and be at least 21 years old at graduation; selected cadets may progress toward the IU Police Academy.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at Indiana University in good academic standing with a 2.5 GPA.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• 21 years of age upon graduation from the Police Academy.

Responsibilities

• Performs non-law enforcement duties for IU Police Department including radio dispatch duties and security assignments for buildings and events.
• Engages in special assignments that require IUPD presence but not sworn Officers; liaises with staff, students and visitors.
• Observes and reports suspicious activity and coordinates with officers as appropriate.
