Job summary

Indiana University Police Department is seeking Cadets to perform non-law enforcement duties such as radio dispatch, security assignments for buildings and events, and special assignments that require the presence of IUPD but not a sworn officer. Cadets will liaise with staff and students, observe activities, and report developments while maintaining safety and policy compliance.

Required are full-time student status at IU with a minimum 2.5 GPA, a valid driver's license, and being 21 years old

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at Indiana University with a 2.5 GPA.
• Possess a valid driver's license with IU insurance consideration.
• 21 years of age upon graduation from the Police Academy.
• Proficient communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform radio dispatch duties.
• Provide security assignments for buildings and events.
• Coordinate with staff and IUPD as needed.
• Observe and report suspicious activity and enforce university policy under supervision.
• Maintain contact with faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
