Job summary

Utah Tech University seeks a Retail Operations Coordinator to support day-to-day campus retail operations. You will oversee customer care, staff scheduling, product orders, and receiving, working with the director to implement retail strategies.

The role requires supervising part-time staff, managing schedules including evenings and weekends, and ensuring food safety and cash handling compliance. Experience with POS systems and vendor relations is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associates degree preferred.
• At least two years' related retail management experience including supervision and customer service.
• Forklift certification and operation required (training provided).
• Ability to work evenings and some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, and supervise part‑time employees within assigned areas.
• Develop and maintain employee schedules; ensure coverage during hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and events.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and financial policies (cash handling, reporting).
• Manage vendor relations and product ordering.
• Assist with receiving, unloading deliveries, restocking shelves, and inventory tracking.
• Provide positive customer experiences and resolve concerns quickly.
• Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting POS and other tech used in operations.
• Help develop strategies to improve service, sales, and promote university initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
