Job summary

University of Rochester is seeking a full-time Supervisor for its retail dining locations in Rochester, NY. The role oversees day-to-day operations, ensures exceptional customer service, and maintains high food safety and product quality standards while leading a team of student employees.

You will directly supervise student staff, provide training, assist with scheduling, and coordinate with dining management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in a retail, food services, or dining operations role required.
• Associate Degree in Business Management, Hospitality Management, a food-related service, or related field and experience in a leadership position preferred.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Supports the daily operations of a retail dining location and ensures high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and product quality.
• Supervises student employees, trains staff, assists with scheduling, and acts as liaison between students, staff, and dining management.
• Manages POS cash handling, daily reconciliations, and inventory procedures; supports promotions and events to enhance customer experience.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization, adheres to health and sanitation guidelines, and tracks quality control data.
