Job summary

American University is seeking a Residence Maintenance Crew member to support Housing and Residence Life with maintenance and event setup across residence halls on the main campus and associated buildings. This on-site, part-time role is available only to enrolled students and follows a non-exempt work schedule.

You will respond to facilities tickets, assist with lofts and furniture, perform routine inspections, and help with recycling, inventory, and front-desk support as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a student at American University.
• Part-time student position with specific hours across fall, spring, and summer.
• Duties include furniture setup, maintenance, and event support.

Responsibilities

• Respond to 2FIX maintenance requests and coordinate with facilities staff.
• Assist in moving, installing, and adjusting residence hall furniture and equipment.
• Inspect facilities for safety issues and conduct periodic inventory checks.
• Support front desk as needed and help with event setups in meeting spaces.
