GrayMatter is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our Building Automation Services team. You will design, develop and implement control solutions across data centers, power generation, and manufacturing sectors.

Expect coordination across mechanical, electrical, and controls teams and active involvement in commissioning, training, and client support. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in EE/EET/ME/MET or equivalent, strong PLC programming skills with Schneider/Siemens experience,

• Perform GrayMatter services to meet client needs in data center, power generation, and manufacturing contexts.

• Lead commissioning procedures, test scripts, and documentation validation.
• Consult with and train end users on new applications.
• Assist in project development and planning.
• Position is local, may require up to 50% travel yearly.

Control Systems Engineer – Join our Building Automation Services team! This role focuses on managing specialized work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The position requires above‑average attention to detail, a strong commitment to tasks completed on time, and a disciplined, conservative approach.

Locations: Omaha, NE; San Antonio, TX; Wichita Falls, TX; Tulsa, OK; Indianapolis, IN.

General Job Duties

• Perform GrayMatter services to meet client needs, focusing on Control Systems common in data center, power generation, and advanced manufacturing industries.
• Design, develop and implement solutions to achieve project goals.
• Lead integration and coordination between mechanical, electrical, and controls systems to ensure seamless operation across platforms.
• Lead development and execution of commissioning procedures, test scripts, and documentation validation.
• Consult with and train end users on new applications.
• Assist in project development and planning.
• Position is local, but may require up to 50% travel during the calendar year.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed

• Bachelor’s Degree in EE, EET, ME, MET, or a comparable field (equivalent experience and training may also be considered).

Relevant Working Experience

• PLC programming: Schneider Modicon, Allen‑Bradley, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, Schneider Electric, and Siemens.
• SCADA systems: Ignition.
• Control Systems implementation, design, installs, and troubleshooting.
• Industrial application programming languages.
• Electrical schematics, power distribution, water/ cooling systems.
• Acute attention to detail, strong problem‑solving and research skills, excellent customer service attitude.

Preferred Experience

• AutoCAD or drafting experience.
• Networking experience (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.).

The target annual base compensation range for this position is $100,000‑$150,000, based upon relevant qualifications.
