Job summary

GrayMatter is hiring a Technical Lead for Building Automation Services. You will execute specialized work efficiently with a strong emphasis on controls and SCADA systems in data center, power, and manufacturing environments.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and a disciplined, customer-focused approach. Occasional travel is required; base salary ranges from $140k to $170k.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field (ChE, EE, EET, ME, MET or comparable).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience with SCADA platforms.
• Experience with PLC platforms (AB, Modicon, Siemens) preferred.
• Field start-up, troubleshooting, and commissioning experience.
• Knowledge of electrical distribution, UPS, power metering, and relay monitoring.
• Understanding of electrical schematics, instrumentation, and control concepts.
• Control systems implementation, design, installs, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Networking experience (Ethernet IP, Modbus, 61850).

General Job Duties

• Performing GrayMatter services to meet client needs, with a specific focus on controls and SCADA systems common in data center, power generation, and advanced manufacturing industries.
• Designing, developing, and implementing automated process solutions for data center, power generation, and advanced manufacturing facilities
• Be an active project team contributor for projects of all sizes
• Assisting in project development, planning, and engineering.
• Supporting onsite start-up, troubleshooting, and commissioning assistance for site teams.
• Building training curriculum to set site teams up for success.
• Required pre-employment drug screen and background check
• This position requires occasional, but not extensive, travel

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed

• Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field (ChE, EE, EET, ME, MET or comparable). An equivalent combination of experience and training may also be considered.

Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience with:

• SCADA platforms (Ignition, AVEVA, Schneider PSO)
• PLC platforms experience preferred (Allen-Bradley, Modicon, Siemens)
• Field start-up, troubleshooting, and commissioning
• Working knowledge of electrical distribution schemes, UPS, power metering, and relay monitoring.
• Understanding of Electrical Schematics, instrumentation, and control concepts
• Control Systems implementation, design, installs, testing, and troubleshooting
• Networking experience (Ethernet IP, Modbus, 61850)
• Acute attention to detail and process, Strong ability to solve problems and research solutions with an excellent customer service attitude

The target annual base compensation range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000, based upon relevant qualifications.
