Job summary

GrayMatter is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Kalamazoo, MI. This hybrid role focuses on designing, developing and implementing control solutions for client systems, with emphasis on Rockwell PLCs and HMIs.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in an applicable field and at least four years of experience with controls, electrical schematics, and on-site start-ups. We value accuracy, customer service, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field (EE, EET, ME, MET, ChemE or comparable).
• Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience, specifically with controls.
• Experience with industrial application programming languages.
• Required experience with Rockwell PLCs.
• Basic understanding of Electrical Schematics and electrical installations.
• Acute attention to detail and process.
• Strong ability to solve problems and research solutions.
• Excellent customer service attitude.
• Ability to work both independently and in team environments.

• Performing onsite pilots, testing and demos as needed.

The position will generally be task oriented, requiring someone with a conservative, careful, and cautious approach to work.
Location: This is a Hybrid role commuting to our office in Kalamazoo, MI.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed:

• Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field (EE, EET, ME, MET, ChemE or comparable). An equivalent combination of experience and training will also be considered.

• Required experience with Rockwell PLCs

• Other PLC and/or HMI experience (i.e.Win CC HMI)
• Database experience (MS SQL Server)
