Job summary

GrayMatter is seeking a Control Systems Engineer in Newark, DE to join our team. The role focuses on managing specialized work efficiently with attention to detail and a strong sense of duty. The position is hybrid and requires travel to customer locations.

Responsibilities include designing and implementing control solutions, training end users, and supporting project development. A Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years of controls experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in EE, EET, ME, MET, ChemE or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience with controls and industrial automation.
• Experience with Rockwell PLCs and Rockwell HMIs.

Responsibilities

• Perform GrayMatter services focusing on control systems.
• Design and implement client solutions for customer issues.
• Train end users on new applications and assist in project development.
• Perform onsite pilots, testing and demos as needed.

We're looking for aControl Systems Engineer in Newark, DE to join our team! This position will focus on managing specialized work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The position requires above average attention to details, concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time. The person in this position will take work seriously, has a strong sense of duty, and is disciplined. The position will generally be task oriented, requiring someone with a conservative, careful, and cautious approach to work.

Location:

Hybrid, Newark, Delaware (254 Chapman Rd, Ste 108, Topkis Bldg., Newark, DE 19702)

General Job Duties:

• Performing GrayMatter services to meet client needs, with a specific focus on Control Systems
• Designing, developing and implementing solutions to resolve customer issues
• Consulting with and training end users on new applications
• Assisting in project development and planning
• Performing onsite pilots, testing and demos as needed
• Position requires 20 - 30% independent travel to customer locations

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed:

• Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field (EE, EET, ME, MET, ChemE or comparable). An equivalent combination of experience and training will also be considered.
• 5 years of relevant working experience, specifically with controls
• Experience with industrial application programming languages
• Required experience with Rockwell PLCs
• Basic understanding of Electrical Schematics and electrical installations
• Acute attention to detail and process
• Strong ability to solve problems and research solutions
• Excellent customer service attitude
• Ability to work both independently and in team environments

Most Preferred Skillsets:

• Rockwell PLCs
• Rockwell HMIs (FTV ME and/or SE)
• InTouch HMIs
• AutoCAD

Strong Preference for Experience with:

• Emerson/GE PLCs
• Ignition HMI

Preference for Experience within:

• Other PLC and/or HMI experience (i.e.Win CC HMI)
• Historian experience (WW Historian, Proficy)
• Database experience (MS SQL Server)
• Higher level programming such as C++, C#, Python, etc.
