Job summary

ST. Mary's University in San Antonio seeks an Intramural Sports and Recreation Coordinator to develop, promote, and deliver engaging intramural and recreational activities that support campus life.

The role collaborates with Residence Life, Student Life, and Health and Wellness to plan events, manage schedules, recruit and train student staff, and ensure inclusive programs for all abilities and backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience with intramural/recreational programs.
• Experience supervising student staff and planning sports programs preferred.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification required or obtainable within the first 90 days of employment.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance; able to complete Van Driver Training within 90 days.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends; some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers intramural and recreational programming.
• Plans league/tournament marketing, registration, scheduling, and officials.
• Collaborates with Residence Life, Student Life, and Health and Wellness for cross-planning events.
• Engages with students to improve engagement, morale, and well-being.
• Ensures inclusive programming for diverse groups and schedules.
• Establishes rules, schedules, sign-ups, brackets, and conduct codes.
• Maintains annual fitness programming and rock-climbing area activities.
• Recruitment and training of student staff and oversight of staff scheduling.
