Job summary

The University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks a Coordinator for Intramural Sports to plan, supervise and evaluate intramural activities within Campus Life & Wellbeing. Under the Assistant Director, you will design programs, manage student staff and ensure safe, inclusive recreation for students.

This full-time, on-site role requires leadership, budgeting input, risk management, and collaboration with campus partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with two years recreation experience required or Master’s with one year related experience.
• CPR Teaching Certification required within six months of employment.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise intramural sport activities.
• Design, implement, and evaluate new intramural programs.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise 100+ student staff.
• Provide leadership through trainings, in-service meetings, and workshops.
• Oversee maintenance, equipment purchases, and budget for programs.
• Assist in strategic planning and assessment for RecWell.
