Job summary

Texas Southmost College is seeking a Coordinator of Student Sports to plan, coordinate, and evaluate intramural and recreational sports programs across the campus community. The role includes supporting athletic programs as directed and enhancing student engagement.

Responsibilities include supervising leagues and events, assisting with staff development, and contributing to risk management and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of direct experience in intramural, recreational sports, physical education, student event planning and coordination, or intercollegiate athletics; OR an associate’s degree with five years of direct experience in intramural/recreational sports in a college setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise intramural and recreational sports leagues, tournaments, events, and intercollegiate activities.
• Support recruitment efforts and coordinate athletic events with the Director of Recreation Center and Athletics Operations.
• Assist in risk management procedures and staff training for safe delivery of programs.
• Plan and implement activities for students and market them across the College district.
• Oversee game day programming and operations; ensure equipment is maintained and inspected regularly.
