Job summary

El Paso Community College is seeking a procurement professional to acquire goods and services on campus in accordance with state law and college policies. This role reviews requisitions, issues purchase orders, and negotiates with suppliers to obtain quotes for emergency purchases.

The position requires experience with bids, contracts, and purchasing regulations, with a focus on compliant, timely procurement.

Qualifications

• Effective communication (oral and written).
• Experience processing bids and evaluating specs.
• Experience negotiating with vendors.
• Working knowledge of purchasing laws and regulations related to education/government.

Responsibilities

• Acquire goods and services in compliance with state law and College policies.
• Review and approve requisitions to issue purchase orders daily.
• Interview suppliers and obtain quotes for emergency purchases.
• Maintain catalogs and specifications; develop accurate specs.
• Process bids to ensure compliance with College policies and TEA Code.
• Guide College personnel on procurement procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
