Job summary

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Police Sergeant to supervise police officers and security staff, participate in training and evaluation, and ensure campus safety. This role supports the Public Safety team with enforcement of laws and coordination of security operations on and around campus.

Responsibilities include regulating criminal activity, directing traffic control, patrolling campus areas, preparing testimony for legal proceedings, and providing special security upon University

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum two years of experience in police or security roles.
• Act 120 certified is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises police officers and security staff; assists in training and evaluation.
• Responds to issues and oversees officers on duty.
• Regulates criminal activity and enforces laws as required by the case.
• Oversees traffic and enforces road-related laws.
• Patrols areas on and around the campus.
• Prepares testimony for legal proceedings; participates in investigations as needed.
• Provides special security services at the University’s request.
