Job summary

The University of Toledo is seeking a University Law Enforcement Officer to serve as a police officer for the University of Toledo Police Department. Duties include policing, safety, and security, protecting lives and property, and supporting the campus community.

Minimum qualifications emphasize age, fitness, background checks, drug testing, and successful completion of exams and interviews. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required. One-year probation applies upon entry.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must meet physical fitness and medical standards as determined by police.
• Must submit to a urinalysis drug test.
• Education may be substituted with two years of continuous active full-time law enforcement experience.
• Must pass a psychological examination.
• Must pass written and oral testing and interviewing.
• Must agree to a thorough background examination.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under university policies.
• Desirable: professional, proactive work ethic and positive attitude.
• All officers start at entry level and are on probation for one year.
