Job summary

The University of Richmond is seeking a licensed plumber to maintain plumbing systems across campus, including domestic water, site utilities, and sanitary networks. You will inspect, repair, and install pipes and fixtures, read schematics, and estimate labor and material costs.

This full-time, on-site role requires OSHA knowledge, ability to work in crawl spaces and elevations, and readiness to be on-call for emergencies. A technical plumbing certificate and journeyman license are preferred.

Qualifications

• IPC knowledge and adherence to International Plumbing Code.
• Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
• Basic estimating skills for labor and materials.
• OSHA regulations knowledge applicable to work.
• Proper use and safety of tools and equipment.
• Clear and professional communication with interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair varied plumbing systems including domestic water supply, site utility and fire main supply, building and site sanitary, fixtures and specialties, storm drains.
• Install or modify systems for small renovation projects.
• Work safely in crawl spaces, occupied spaces, excavations, and construction areas.
• Carry out projects or maintenance work with minimal supervision.
• Assist in special events as required to ensure successful outcomes.
• Comply with university safety standards and Facilities core values.
• On-call for emergency service on rotating basis.
