Job summary

Wilberforce University is seeking a Certified Plumber to install, maintain and repair plumbing systems across campus, including dorms, classrooms, athletic facilities, and administrative buildings.

You will respond to routine and emergency maintenance requests, diagnose issues, perform repairs, and work collaboratively with the Facilities team and external contractors to ensure compliance with codes and University standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial, institutional, or residential plumbing.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Repair or replace faucets, toilets, sinks, water heaters, and pumps.
• Diagnose leaks, clogs, low water pressure, drainage problems, and other plumbing issues.
• Respond promptly to emergency plumbing situations and coordinate with outside contractors when needed.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, work orders, materials used, and equipment serviced.
