Job summary

Miami University Parking Services is seeking a Parking Technician to support the daily operation of campus parking lots and structures in Oxford, OH. Under supervision, you will assist with customer service, collect fees, and help manage parking during events.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of related experience, along with the ability to work with diverse individuals and follow university policies.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and six months of related experience.
• Ability to work well with people with diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of university rules and regulations.
• Basic mathematical and reading aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Patrol parking lots and structures; note and report suspicious activity; issue parking violation citations; inform supervisor of maintenance, repair and signage replacement needs.
• Operate cash register to calculate parking fees; collect money and make change; prepare receipts as required. Reconcile cash drawer and ticket totals.
• Provide assistance to staff, faculty, students and visitors, including directions, explaining garage charges, and information on parking policies.
• Collect monies from parking meters and deliver to business office for receipt.
• Perform service/attendant function for special events and direct parking when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
