Job summary

Miami University (Ohio) seeks a Sr Building and Grounds Assistant (Groundskeeping) to perform a range of groundskeeping tasks on campus. The role includes mowing, trimming, raking, and assisting with event setup and teardown, including moving tables, chairs, and staging, and operating light technical equipment.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. A high school diploma or GED with at least one year of related experience is required, along with potential driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and one year of technical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May require driver's license.
• Knowledge of custodial or groundskeeping operations.
• Knowledge of event set-up operations.
• Knowledge of moving equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs groundskeeping tasks including mowing, trimming, raking, removing shrubs and trees.
• Assists in set up and break down for events; arranges tables, chairs, and staging; moves technical equipment.
• May set up and operate lighting and sound equipment.
• May operate moving equipment including forklift and high lift.
• Picks up trash and/or litter from university buildings and grounds; empties receptacles.
• Performs custodial or groundskeeping tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting or vacuuming.
