Job summary

The University of Indianapolis is seeking a skilled Facilities Painter to maintain our campus appearance. This hands-on role covers painting across residence halls, academic buildings, and offices, with emphasis on prep, priming, and high‑quality finish work.

You will take pride in clean lines and well-prepped surfaces that look sharp. As an essential staff member, you will contribute to a campus-wide painting plan, collaborate with the facilities and carpentry teams, and participate in on-call

Qualifications

• Three years of painting experience with a solid working knowledge of general building maintenance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to complete OSHA safety training, use required PPE, and follow all safety standards.
• A clean or otherwise acceptable driving record.
• Self-directed and resourceful, with a customer-service mindset and a genuine eye for making a space look its best.

Responsibilities

• Paint and finish across a campus, including surface prep, priming, and finish coats for drywall, metal frames, and other surfaces.
• Measure and estimate square footage and lineal footage to order paint and materials.
• Keep paint shop supplies organized and stocked.
• Help build and maintain a campus-wide painting plan and respond to work orders.
• Assist carpentry with hanging items and office/furniture moves; support cross-departmental tasks.
