Job summary

San Jacinto College is seeking an Outreach Advisor to lead community outreach and recruitment efforts for the Central Campus. The role involves building relationships with high schools, community centers, and organizations, and developing on- and off-campus events for K-12 outreach and tours.

You will travel locally, deliver presentations, and advise prospective students through the admissions process, including FAFSA/TASFA assistance, while coordinating with multiple college departments.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills required.
• Frequent local travel required as well as evening and weekend hours.
• Texas or other valid Driver's License and reliable transportation required.
• Must be capable of carrying and setting up recruiting displays and materials.
• Ability to manage numerous tasks and develop/complete new projects with little supervision.
• Must safeguard sensitive information and demonstrate strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the goals of the College's strategic plan and recruitment plan using face-to-face methods, events, public relations, direct email, and web.
• Recruit at schools and community agencies, develop and direct outreach programs, and build liaisons with in-district and campus representatives.
• Participate in the delivery of campus tours and develop new programs/workshops on and off campus.
• Provide support to high school populations through on-site admissions, testing, and financial aid workshops with follow-ups.
• Foster relationships with academic, technical, campus organizations, and Continuing and Professional Development departments.
• Provide career, educational, and academic services and advise prospective students and families about admissions.
