Job summary

Rhode Island School of Design seeks a Nurse Case Manager to join Health Services. The role manages a caseload of students with complex medical concerns, combining direct nursing care, health education, and case management to support student success on campus.

The successful candidate will collaborate with RISD staff and administrators to promote student well-being, continuity of care, and inclusive campus health practices.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Rhode Island.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum five years nursing experience.
• Experience communicating clearly and coordinating with a team.
• EMR experience required.
• Experience with diverse student populations incl. international students and LGBTQ+ students.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, FERPA, college health standards.

Responsibilities

• Triage presenting concerns and provide nursing assessment; refer to Nurse Practitioner as needed.
• Manage student immunization compliance and track via EMR.
• Monitor medical providers' inbox for timely evaluation of results.
• Coordinate care and transportation for emergent or urgent situations.
• Provide health counseling on nutrition, substance use, contraception, STI/HIV testing, and wellness.
