Job summary

St. John Fisher University in Rochester, NY seeks a Network Administrator to maintain campus wired/wireless networks, VoIP/UC, and connected systems. You will troubleshoot, document, and support end users across academic and residential spaces, coordinating with Facilities and IT teams.

The role includes field‑level cabling, copper/fiber troubleshooting, and Cisco Meraki management. This is an in‑person, day‑to‑day operations position on campus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in IT or related field with 3–5 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Structured cabling and physical-layer troubleshooting experience in copper, fiber, and analog telephony.
• Ability to read drawings, schematics, and documentation; good communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with network testing equipment and documenting results.
• Familiarity with OSI Layers 1–3, VLANs, IP/subnetting, DHCP/DNS basics.

Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day support for campus wired and wireless services across multiple spaces; respond to incidents via ticketing system.
• Assist with end-user communication, expectations, and service restoration.
• Troubleshoot issues using a structured approach and coordinate with IT teams to resolve end‑to‑end.
• Install, configure, and support switches, routers, wireless gear, and related infrastructure per standards.
• Support CUCM and Webex Calling; assist with adds/moves/changes and outages as needed.
• Provide network-side support for security cameras and IoT devices; maintain accurate documentation.
