Job summary

Northwest Florida State College seeks a Network Administrator to manage campus networking, telecommunications, and virtualization. You will join the Systems Operations team to drive automation and standardized processes across Cisco core switches, Meraki wireless, and Hyper-V server estate on multiple campuses.

Responsibilities include administering VLANs, SD-WAN, IP telephony, and network security, while collaborating with service providers and maintaining accurate topology and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience/certification.
  • Five years of professional full-time network administration in a multi-site environment.
  • Hands-on Cisco switching experience (IOS, VLANs, trunking, routing).
  • Working knowledge of enterprise voice systems (IP telephony, voice gateway).
  • Familiarity with version control and scripting/automation.
  • Windows Server administration and Active Directory; Linux server administration.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco core and access-layer switching; manage VLANs, ACLs, and security.
  • Administer the SD-WAN environment, site health, path selection, and template-based configuration.
  • Administer Cisco Meraki wireless, AP deployment, SSID/RF config, firmware management.
  • Administer IP telephony: voice gateway, trunks, voicemail, moves/adds/changes.
  • Coordinate WAN connectivity with service providers; manage outages and performance.
  • Maintain topology diagrams, IPAM records, and port documentation; cabling and closet upkeep.
  • Lead standardization of cable plant; supervise low-voltage contractors as needed.
  • Develop and maintain configuration management and automation using Ansible/Python; drift detection.
