Job summary

Northern Kentucky University is seeking a Material Handler/Recycler to support the Labor Crew by prioritizing and completing work orders, moving and delivering recyclable materials, and assisting with custodial tasks.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred). You will work on campus, lift up to 50 lbs, operate a forklift and manual handling equipment, and coordinate with facilities teams for events and relocations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required; CDL preferred.
• Experience operating basic equipment and performing manual tasks is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and performing major relocations of individuals and departments to different offices/buildings.
• Pick up trash and recyclables from buildings; separate and shred documents and load recyclables.
• Move and deliver recyclable products to an outside recycling center weekly.
• Assist with window cleaning and delivery of supplies.
• Check recycling containers for cleanliness and report damaged containers to management.
• Coordinate snow and ice removal on campus with Roads & Grounds.
• Discuss work assignments with the Supervisor & Lead at the start of each shift to plan workloads.
