Job summary

Northern Kentucky University is seeking a Material Handler/Recycler (Labor Crew) to support the Supervisor and Lead in prioritizing and overseeing work orders for material handling and recycling across campus. The role includes relocations, waste collection, and event support.

The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliable operation of moving equipment, with duties evolving to meet campus needs. A high school diploma and valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year of related experience.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and performing major relocations of individuals and departments to different offices and/or buildings.
• Pick up trash and recyclable items from buildings; sort, shred, and bale cardboard.
• Assist with window cleaning and delivery of supplies; inspect recycling containers.
• Assist with snow and ice removal on campus; respond to emergencies as needed.
• Report security concerns to University Police and management; communicate workload priorities to supervisors.
• Discuss work assignments with Supervisor/Lead to plan and prioritize workloads and ensure quality.
