Job summary

Capstone On-Campus Management provides student housing services at The Heights at Montclair State University. The Maintenance Technician collaborates with Facilities Staff to upkeep and repair the property, ensuring safe and functional systems across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building components.

Responsibilities include on-call emergency coverage, preventative maintenance, and timely coordination with the Assistant Director for Facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years’ experience in residential or student housing preferred.
• Preference for HVAC, LEED, plumbing, electrical experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems including thermostats, filter changes, and belt changes.
• Repair and replace public area, office, and residential furniture as needed.
• Conduct routine boiler maintenance and monitor temperatures, gauges and repairs.
• Perform electrical repairs including fixtures, sockets, outlets, and GFCIs.
• Complete painting and drywall repair/replacement projects as scheduled.
• Maintain, clean, and organize storage and Maintenance Shop daily.
