Job summary

College Town Communities is seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician to join our student housing team. You’ll handle day-to-day work orders, preventive maintenance, and unit turns during peak move-in/move-out seasons, ensuring safety and comfort for residents.

You’ll work with provided tools on-site, perform basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks, and communicate effectively with students and parents while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in residential property maintenance or student housing.
• Proficient in basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, drywall, and painting.
• Willingness to work a rotating on-call schedule.
• Strong communication and organization for managing work orders.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day work orders and repairs.
• Perform turn cleaning and repairs during move-in/move-out.
• Diagnose and resolve routine and emergency maintenance.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on buildings and systems.
• Coordinate with vendors for larger projects.
• Maintain inventory records and notify when reordering.
• Ensure safety and code compliance during inspections.
