Job summary

Lone Star College in The Woodlands, TX, seeks a Maintenance Technician I to perform beginner-level maintenance, repairs and installations on campus buildings, equipment and systems. This role supports daily operations and helps maintain a safe, functional environment for students, faculty and staff.

The ideal candidate will collaborate across campuses, respond to work orders promptly, assist in carpentry and general repairs, and maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic carpentry and building systems knowledge.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook; work orders preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of classrooms, offices and common areas.
• Respond to maintenance requests and work orders timely.
• Assist with carpentry, painting and drywall repairs.
• Maintain doors, windows and essential facilities.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and work orders.
• Operate tools and equipment safely and follow SOPs.
• Provide emergency on-call support as required.
