Job summary

Lone Star College System is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform beginner-level maintenance, repairs and installations on campus buildings, equipment and systems. This role supports daily operations and ensures a safe, functional environment for students and staff.

You will inspect buildings, respond to requests, assist with carpentry and drywall, maintain doors and windows, and help uphold safety standards across campuses.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of carpentry and general building systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with work order management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of buildings, including classrooms, offices, and common areas.
• Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner.
• Assist in general carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs.
• Maintain and repair doors and windows.
• Collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to complete projects and repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment performance.
• Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles necessary for assigned tasks.
• Ensure compliance with safety and Property Services expectations.
• Provide emergency on-call support as required.
• Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.
