Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking a General Maintenance and Repair Technician to join the Facilities team at KU Edwards Campus. The role covers troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance across campus buildings, grounds, and infrastructure, ensuring safety and reliability for students, faculty, staff, and guests.

Responsibilities include HVAC and electrical work, snow removal, classroom setups for events, and after-hours emergency support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of maintenance experience using basic tools and equipment.
• Experience working with diverse teams and individuals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain building and grounds appearance and systems.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and repairs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Install, operate, repair, and maintain mechanical systems as directed.
• Carry out snow removal and apply ice melt per Facilities Manager.
• Perform routine system checks and complete project paperwork.
• Support events, classroom setups, and access to spaces as needed.
