Job summary

KU Edwards Campus is seeking a General Maintenance and Repair Technician to support the facilities team in keeping campus buildings and grounds safe, clean, and functional. The role covers troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and a wide range of trades including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.

The position emphasizes hands-on work, independent problem solving, and participation in campus events.

Qualifications

• Two years’ maintenance experience with basic power/hand tools.
• High school diploma or GED required; vocational cert/assoc degree may substitute for one year experience.
• Experience working with diverse teams and in a facilities environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• 70%: Maintain building and grounds; perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems.
• 25%: Coordinate events/class setups and provide classrooms/equipment support for KU classes or external events.
• 5%: Perform other related maintenance duties as assigned and support other operations as needed.
