Job summary

The University of Vermont seeks a Locksmith Assistant to learn and perform maintenance and repair of building locks and security systems across campus. You will access information using appropriate software and support safe, secure facilities while minimizing disruption to university operations.

This role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of related experience, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and one year of related experience required.
• A valid driver’s license, or ability to obtain and driver checks may be required.
• Experience using computers and mobile technology required.
• Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to interact with diverse groups of people and function in a team setting.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE ) while performing specific job tasks.
• Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of background check.

Responsibilities

• Access information utilizing appropriate software and promote safety on campus; may operate a university vehicle.
