Job summary

Western Nevada College's Carson City campus library is seeking a work-study student employee to assist at the circulation desk and patrons. Duties include checkouts, returns, renewals, shelving, and helping students locate materials and resources.

The role is 50% FTE (up to 20 hours per week per schedule) with an hourly rate of $12–$15. Eligibility requires work-study funds and enrollment in at least 6 credits per regular semester, plus progress and work authorization requirements.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in at least 6 credits each regular semester; and
• Be in a degree seeking program; and
• Meet all Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements: 67% completion rate in the last enrolled semester, 67% cumulative completion rate, 2.0 GPA, not exceed max credits (90) or have two degrees, or be on approved appeal and Academic Plan; and
• Be authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, welcoming assistance to WNC library patrons
• Assist with circulation desk operations, including checkouts, returns, renewals, and account questions
• Shelve and organize library materials and maintain an orderly collection
• Assist students with locating books, course materials, technology, and other library resources
